btc fork date [Breaking News] Segwit 2x Has Been Called Off. How Did The Market React?

This was totally unexpected to me, but about 3 hours ago we learned that the Segwit2x has been called off.

Here is a quote from from coindesk:

"Unfortunately, it is clear that we have not built sufficient consensus for
a clean block size upgrade at this time. Continuing on the current path could divide the community and be a setback to Bitcoin’s growth. This was never the goal of Segwit2x."

This quote came from Mike Belshe, CEO and co-founder of bitcoin wallet software provider BitGo.

They also said that the group still has hopes that the block size will be increased further down the line, once there is more agreement from stakeholders.

I initially thought that as soon as the hard fork would be over, the money would flood into the altcoins and it looks like that is happening right now instead.

But lets have a look at the futures for Segwit 2x:

Comment: Not a pretty picture here, they are down 83% from 1300 to about 200. I hope you didnt own any of these.

Anyways, lets look at Bitcoin now:

Comment: Once the news came out Bitcoin quickly rose to 7900 but has since retreated back and is now trading around 7300 or 3% up. In order for Bitcoin to still look bulish I would like to see a close above 7500.
